User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars calipers arent easy
The calipers are kindof hard to get used too….Actually to be honest, i havent’ figured out how to use them yet.

5 Stars Fat Track Gold - Better than Scale
This product was easy to use, and easy to remember how to use. I was worried I’d have to go back to the instructions 5 times before I remembered how to do it each time but, it only took the 2nd time.

I feel this is a better way to track progress over a scale. Scales that track body fat base it on water retention which is not fat. Where as this 3 spot marker makes it hard to fudge any results or just screw up taking the results.

3 Stars broke after a year
It worked really well, but then I took a break from measuring. When I decided to start again a year later, it no longer worked. Just makes an annoying beeping sound every time I try to hit select or next. I was going to try a different one, but this still seems to be the most reliable option for self testing, so I guess I will get another one. The myotape works great, btw.

2 Stars WIldly inaccurate despite much effort
I was debating between this product and the hand held electronic device, and I chose this because I felt it would be more accurate. I have owned it for 3 weeks now, and I have yet to get a reproducible reading that was accurate. I have watched videos, read the instructions and even called their support number. Generally it tells me I am 1.4% when I should be around 12%. The Myotape is great, but I would have been better off with the hand held devise and the measuring tape.

2 Stars Inaccurate, flimsy.
Accuracy on this thing is very poor, especially if you’re lean. For example, measuring the same spot twice you might get a reading of 2.0 or 3.0 — that’s quite a margin of error! And why does the digital display have a decimal point when it’s always just .0? (i.e. it only reads whole integer millimetres — 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, etc..)

Also, the device is built out of cheap, poorly-assembled plastic. After about 6 months of use I found that I had to press on the callipers in a weird way (pulling them laterally apart) to get any reading at all.

The BMI “calculation” functions are pretty useless. You’d be better off just typing the measurements into an online calculator.

All in all, you’d be much better off just buying old-school metal callipers. They last much longer and are more accurate.

One bright spot is the bonus measuring tape.
