3 Stars I Love It, I Love It Not.
Well…..some of the value of this book is within its ability to stimulate discussion. Some of the discussion is not about food but the concern that some of the material was not theirs. Unfortunate as that may be, the rally for a healthier, less traditional diet is heard loudly.
I agree it came off sounding like a rush week rally cry but I enjoyed the content and I loved their youthful passion.
The years passed and Wolfe maintained and refined that passion to present the topic with a more interactive voice currently.
This is a personal decision that is available for all. Continue eating as we always have or give the raw life a chance to cleanse and heal us inwardly.
I don’t believe that everyone will align with the concept of raw eating and may choose simply because they don’t want to change. This book is from 3 guys who wrote a passionate plea for the reader to hear their perspective and their conclusions concerning dietary health.
The choice to listen and act accordingly or not is always within the reader’s power.
Raw food, obesity and disease are all under scrutiny in this writing which I believe can be an informative read.
5 Stars Bad reviewers are totally off base
This is one of my personal favorite books. It is not designed to be read in one sitting. It’s a reference book that you read a chapter a week from. Everything in the book is correct. If you want scientific data rather than a discussion of raw food, you’ll need to read The China Study by Colin Campbell. If you’re reading these two books at the same time, you’ll get it. The scientific data is out there. If you eat a bunch of crappy food, you will get diseases. Do you actually need data to prove 90% of what you buy at the grocery store is bad food? I was actually shocked the ratings were so low on this. If you randomly start reading this book, it might be overwhelming. If you realize you can never eat cooked food or meat again, this book will satiate your appetite. HIGHLY recommended.
1 Stars Natures Second Law: Don’t Put More $ in Their Organic Pockets
Yeah, it would be great if we could live on raw foods. It may even prevent diseases and such, but we cannot. We just can’t.
These guys have a God complex for sure, they act like they have the cure for the human condition, when they don’t. They are passionate and committed, and I believe they live this way, but it has consumed them. It is who they are, they are what they eat. no thank you, I don’t want food to play that big of a role in my life.
I was a raw foodist for 3 months, and I read alll of these books…i probably did it for some masochistic psychological reason. Don’t waste your time. eat healthy, eat alot of raw foods, don’t commit yourself to some crazy cult diet.
All things in moderation…including ice cream. And by the way, don’t you think that these guys, who bad mouth the drug industry and organizations like the american diabetes association as being driven by money, what do you think drives them? What would they be doing if not promoting this religion of sorts? I tell you what they wouldn’t be doing, making tons of money, traveling the world, being adored by groupies, and enjoying the level of fame this has brought them.
Go to their web site if you don’t believe me. They aren’t trying to save anyone but themselves, they are creating a demand, a need for products that are unneeded and selling them exclusivly on their web site. THEY ARE CON-MEN!
1 Stars Nature’s First Lie: David Wolfe is a shyster!
Blantantly plagarized and, after the fact, some lame attempt at a citation. For the health aspects of raw food, consult a medical professional, not some Hollywood shyster whole cut and pasted his way to fame.
For the history of raw foods, you might try looking at the source of this book, or perhaps consulting some nutritionists or anthropology about how we eat what we eat, how we came to start cooking food, etc.
David Wolfe is the Milli Vanilla (intentionally misspelled) of raw foods. I gave it one star because most of the words are spelled correctly and the print reads from left to right.

5 Stars The Raw Truth!
Wow…..this book appears kind of “primitive”….with a strange cover, BUT it SO makes sense!!! I am so thankful I found David Wolfe. I have read many of his books, this being the first, and plan to read ALL of them (twice)!!!!! He really has a way of motivating me every time I read something of his….it’s like he is speaking to me personally.
