Master Your Metabolism: The 3 Diet Secrets to Naturally Balancing Your Hormones for a Hot and Healthy Body!

Does it feel as if you’re fighting your body to lose even one pound—or just to maintain your current weight? Respected health and wellness expert and bestselling author Jillian Michaels has been there, too. So she consulted top experts in the field of metabolism and discovered that she’d inadvertently been abusing her endocrine system for years. After “fixing” her own metabolism, she decided to share what she learned by devising this simple, 3-phase plan that engages all the weight-loss hormones (including the friendly HGH, testosterone, DHEA; and the not-so-friendly: insulin, cortisol, and excess estrogen).
In Master Your Metabolism, discover how to:
•REMOVE “anti-nutrients” from your diet
•RESTORE foods that speak directly to fat-burning genes
•REBALANCE energy and your hormones for effortless weight loss
Michaels offers a wealth of information throughout, including: shopping lists and online shopping resources, hormone-trigger food charts, how to eat “power nutrient” foods on a budget, smart strategies for eating out, quick and easy recipes, as well as mini-programs for addressing PMS, andropause, metabolic syndrome, PCOS, and menopause.
User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars I call this book my “health book, not a diet book”
I Loved this book by Jillian. After reading it i began passing it to all my friends to read it as well. The info is easy to read and very informative. I have changed many things in my life after reading this book including reading all food labels more closely.
5 Stars Does It Work LongTerm?
Excellent information and leads the reader to a healthy understanding of balancing your hormones which does lead to a sexy and healthy body. I’ve been applying these secrets for the last 40 years and I look like I am still 40 years old. I know this would be an excellent companion book to Not Your Mother’s Diet selling on amazon.
4 Stars Jillian you are awesome
I’m a Jillian fan so I really liked the autobiography aspect of this book that traces how her knowledge of nutrition, exercise, and hormones developed over time. Some of the material in this book is a little too scientific for my liking, but I definitely learned a lot of things I will apply to my own healthy lifestyle. What I like best about Jillian is that she is someone who has had to work extremely hard to keep her “hot” body. She is a real woman.
4 Stars loved book, not kindle version though
I loved the book and will buy it in hardcopy. Many of the charts and lists are unreadable in the kindle version. I was disappointed about that. I’m sure there is a way around that, but dont’ know what it is at this time. Plus with all of the recipes it will be easier to see them in print in one place. Ms. Michaels writes in an entertaining way about a complex subject. I was pleased with her the well researched way she presents her case. I plan to follow her advice and live a healthier life.
4 Stars informative and useful
this book is informative and useful as a handbook. However it is not suited for me to follow though with the meal plan included. I’d starve to death;) But the discussion on hormones and homonal disruptors certainly got me thinking and shopping more consiously.
