The Stubborn Fat Fix: Eat Right to Lose Weight and Cure Metabolic Burnout without Hunger or Exercise

The Stubborn Fat Fix: Eat Right to Lose Weight and Cure Metabolic Burnout without Hunger or Exercise

Do you feel tired all the time? Do you feel hungry between meals, even if you’ve just eaten? Do you crave candy, soda, or coffee, especially in the mid-afternoon?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have a metabolic disadvantage. Most diet plans fail because they don’t address the underlying metabolic conditions that contribute to increased hunger and weight gain. In fact, they often worsen the problem by cutting calories and prompting food cravings. This further stresses your metabolism and leaves you hungrier—and heavier—than ever.
The Stubborn Fat Fix remedies this by identifying and treating metabolic imbalances. Based on the results of simple quizzes, you’ll choose between two eating plans that prescribe the ideal foods needed to repair your metabolic disorder and turn off faulty hunger signals. On both plans, you’ll lose weight by doing something that seems counterintuitive—eat more, move less—in order to heal your metabolism. You can even incorporate “luxury” foods—indulging in ice cream, salty snacks, bread, wine or beer, or even chocolate—to stay on track without feeling deprived. A tailored supplement program, carefully controlled exercise, and stress-reduction techniques complete the metabolic cure.
Even better, once your metabolism is in balance, you will not only permanently drop pounds but also improve your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, and energy levels for overall better health. Hundreds of the Berkowitzes’ patients, like those profiled in the book, have successfully lost up to 70 pounds with this plan.
With The Stubborn Fat Fix—featuring more than 30 delicious recipes and the exclusive Fiber Ratio tool created by Valerie to help you get the most out of your favorite foods—you, too, can lose that stubborn fat forever.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Easy Plan; Easy Read
Ever since I read Dr. Atkin’s New Diet Revolution (in which Valerie Berkowitz was given credit), I have been a follower of a low carbohydrate way of eating. I truly believe that it can be the healthiest way to eat. One of the many things that I love about this book is that it focuses not only on weight loss, but overall health through “clean” eating and supplementation.

As the title of my review states, I feel that this book presents an easy plan to understand and follow. It is low in carbohydrates, but you don’t have to count every single carbohydrate and try to stay under a certain number. You just eat the specified amount of green veggies, non-starchy veggies, protein, fruits(or chocolate!), fat, etc and you hit the right levels. Also the book provides easy to understand explanations for it’s philosophy (hence the “easy read” portion of the title).

I am excited to make some healthy changes in my diet and see where it takes me!

5 Stars The Stubborn Fat Fix: New and Improved Low-Carb Healthy Lifestyle
This is a user friendly practical guide to healthy eating and weight loss success. It offers a realistic approach in feeling satisfied (not ravenous!) while following a diet of whole unprocessed foods. This is a godsend to those of us who are metabolically challenged. Not only do these authors gently guide you through weight loss obstacles in order to achieve success, they provide the means to feel good all the time through nutritional expertise.

5 Stars A must read
I am the author of Strong Kids, Healthy Kids: The Revolutionary Program for Increasing Your Child’s Fitness in 30 Minutes a Week and I highly recommend The Stubborn Fat Fix. I have been in the business of helping people lose fat and get strong and this book is right on the money. Very comprehensive and easy to understand the Berkowitz team have penned a gem. If optimal health is what you are looking for, buy this book and read it.

5 Stars A Real Food Way To Eat Designed For Living In The Real World
Most conventional diets these days encourage you to “eat less, exercise more.” But what if you had a diet to tell you to “eat more, exercise less?” Sound appealing? Well, that’s exactly what you get from Dr. Keith Berkowitz and his nutritionist wife Valerie in their new book.

They know from many years of working with patients that the vast majority of diets are destined to fail before they start because they neglect to deal with the reasons why people gain weight. And the strategy that most people have been told to shed the pounds (eat less fat, consume more “healthy” grains, fruits and veggies, lower your calories, exercise often) has just made matters worse, not better.

This book identifies exactly what you need to eat to heal your metabolism from the damage done by these other diets by allowing you to enjoy delicious non-addictive low-carb foods and an occasional indulgence to help you stick to your plan forever. These nutritional tactics are combined with supplementation, controlled exercise, and stress-relief techniques to complement the “fix” you are giving your body.

Above all, this book encourages the use of “real food” with a clear plan of action to make you as successful at shedding stored body fat as you can possibly be.

5 Stars Excellent book for execuitves and people on a road
This is a real book with real recommendations, especially very useful for people like me who are traveling all the time, spending a lot of time in different places and countries, at executive meetings which usually follow with business breakfast, lunches and dinners where it is complicated to keep diet and in the same time loose wight, get healthy and feel better. It is also important information about your metabolism, blood sugar and controlled diabetes. Highly recommend to everybody who can not follow strict diet and due to work assignments need to spend time in bars/restaurants and have usually limited choice of healthy food but want to be happy, healthy and control weight.
