5 Stars Formula for living well!
Eat to Live lays out, step by step, and very explicitly, a formula to extend life and improve your health. I am following the suggested advice and am witnessing a very positive change in my energy level, combined with consistent weight loss. This wonderful book explains the science behind Dr. Fuhrman’s ideas in layman’s terms so it is very understandable and I must say, convincing.
5 Stars Finally, a diet that WORKS!
At age 49 I have searched and tried every diet out there. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I started the diet the next day. In six weeks I have lost 10 lbs. I have a digital scale and I know it is accurate. I have not followed the six week program to the letter nor did I exercise as much as I would have liked. I finally heard what I had needed to hear all along. It just took Dr. Fuhrman to explain it to me. I had depended on Atkins for years and always lost weight, but always gained it back. From the first day I gave up meat and dairy I have not missed it at all. I never thought I could live without either. I already had a vitamix and was used to the taste of powdered stevia, so that made it a little easier. Vitamix “ice cream” made with frozen berries, a little water, and stevia saved the day. The vitamix recipe for gazpacho(minus oil) is my staple along with pistachio nuts and all the fruit I can eat. I will stay on this diet the rest of my life. Being on the diet is effortless now and I just keep losing. Occasionally I eat a meal of whatever I want and it does not affect my weight loss. I was extremely addicted to sugar and now that is not such a problem. Granted I only had 20 lbs to lose in the first place, but there is no doubt this will work for anyone. I have never felt better. Remember,”nothing tastes as good as thin feels”.
5 Stars 1lb of raw veggies? Not as hard as you think!
For those of you who have a hard time imagining 1Lb of raw veggies can be easy to eat I have a solution…. high speed blenders and green smoothies! I recently found out I needed to cut down (or out) on gluten, soy and dairy. I thought I had a very healthy diet, because I was a flexatarian and didn’t eat much processed food and meat, and the dairy and wheat consisted mostly of whole wheat I gound myself and plain yogurt. After reading about the health benifits of green smoothies I bought a Vitamix in order to have fast options for incorporating more veggies. The green smoothies were so delicious and filling I wanted to substitute two meals a day with them, but didn’t want to cut my calories down too much even thought I have 20-30 lbs to lose. Ater some research I stumbled on Dr. Fuhrman’s book, and I am now convinced I am on the right path. I have been having an extremely hard time losing any weight even when severely restricting calories, but since starting Dr. Fuhrman’s plan less than a week ago I have lost 4 lbs. and have plently of energy and am not constantly hungry. I was worried about four servings of fruit and blood sugar problems but I have not been shakey or had a headache all week. The blended smoothies make it very easy to fit in the high volume of green veggies! I am very happy I came across this book, and will update in a few months!

I enjoyed reading this book. It inspired me to eat right, give up processed food, fast food, sugar and coffee. I lost 10 pound in 2 weeks. I found out I have a wheat allergy. I always thought I had environmental allergys:like grass, mold ect.. My allergys went away when I stayed away from wheat or glutens. I ate mostly vegan and felt a 100% better. I am now on a more modified diet which I eat some meat but mostly veggies, beans, nuts, and fruits. I am not eating processed food, glutens, sugar, or milk.

THE POUNDS MELT OFF!!! And I can eat as much as I want. I have a huge appetite, and when I was eating the wrong stuff it went strieght to the waste. Now that I’m eating right I can eat as much as I want when I want and not have to worry about gaining weight. I’ve lost 15 pounds in three weeks and lovin the extra energy I’ve had lately. It’s an eye opening book. IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!!!
